Remembrance services, honouring the millions of brave servicemen and women, who were killed or injured fighting for our freedom will take place across the region this Sunday.
The Royal British Legion’s Skegness branch has organised a parade, departing Richomond Drive at 10.30am and travelling through the town to St Matthew’s Church where the act of remembrance will take place beside the war memorial at 10.45am followed by a church service at around noon.
The branch has also invited legion standards from across the region to join with its annual Remembrance Concert at the Embassy Theatre at 7.30pm on Friday, for which tickets are available from the Box Office (see story on page 35).
Skegness Silver Band will be performing a medley of old and new tunes and for the first time in its history the standards will be piped in upon entry.
Alford’s RBL has planned a parade along West Street to St Wilfred’s Church, departing at around 10am.
In Spilsby, the RBL’s parade will depart from the Buttercross at 10.30am heading to St James Church, where there will be a service at 10.45am.
And Wainfleet’s procession leaves the Methodist Chapel after the service, which starts at 10.45am.
