Radio advert man wins top award

A man from Skegness has scooped the pool at the 2012 Cream Yorkshire Advertising Awards.

Skegness copywriter, Ian Flintham is part of an ad team at Real Ads that won three prestigious gongs in an awards ceremony that saw two of their ads tie to win gold in the broadcast category. The ads, for a DIY retailer and an in-house sales recruitment campaign, beat back top competition from advertising agency-created TV and radio ads to grab the joint honour.

However, the real achievement came at the end of the ceremony when the DIY radio advertisement won the overall Chairman’s Award, as judged by Leith Agency’s Creative Director Gerry Farrell.

“We beat all comers, against packaging, press, billboard, TV and digital, “ said Ian. “The competition was of an extremely high quality and we are blown away by this unprecedented success. My team puts a high value on creating effective Radio ads, and these awards demonstrate this.”

Other contributors to the award included Damian Grady and Richie Burkett from Redolution who wrote the music for the DIY advertiser.
