Police and the Doglost charity have appealed for information after reports that a bag containing two puppies was thrown from a moving car in Skegness.

The incident is believed to have occurred on Sunday, September 1 in the vicinity of The Welcome inn on Burgh Old Road just off the A158.

“A driver witnessed the incident and tried to capture the puppies after they escaped the bag and fled terrified across open land,” said a spokesperson for Doglost.

“Did you also witness this incident or have [you] seen the puppies loose in the local area?

“We would like to be able to confirm that they have either been rescued or whether they are still being sighted in the open areas.

“Unfortunately we do not know what breed of dog they were at this time,” they added.

If you have any information about the puppies’ whereabouts call Doglost on 0844 800 3220 or email admin@doglost.co.uk.
