A POPPY appeal has raised more than £15,000 for the Skegness branch of the Royal British Legion.
This year’s impressive total was reached through poppy sales in shops and donations made during the town’s remembrance services. Branch chairman Les Constantine said: “As always this would not be possible without the help and support of so many people. “Thank you to everyone who helped in any way, by delivering the boxes of poppies, selling the poppies in the supermarket or by buying a poppy and to everyone who walked with us in November 11 or joined us at St Matthew’s Church - it was a very moving experience. Any contribution goes towards providing help and support to serving ex-service and their dependants.”
