THE Conservatives’ Skegness branch has hailed moves by town, district and county councils not to increase council tax this year.
The branch has also passed a resolution congratulating the government and local councils for ‘bringing about the freeze’.
Branch chairman John Cowpe said: “This will be very welcome to thousands of local people in the present difficult economic circumstances.”
“Conservatives on each of the councils covering Skegness have responded to the challenge by deciding to have no increases this year.”
“Many people are having a difficult time at present, so any help with keeping bills down must be welcome.”
