INGOLDMELLS Parish Councillors have been warned that they may need to make cuts in order to balance the books.
The news emerged at the latest meeting of the parish council.
The chairman of the finance committee issued the warning after raising concerns that the current budget might slip into deficit by the end of the financial year.
He added that to balance the books without reducing essential services would require a greater cash injection from the precept and investment returns.
But as this was unlikely to be achieved he added that councilllors would need to think “very seriously” when considering the next budget about how things could be “cut back” to make savings and narrow the budgetary shortfall.
