Have your say on ward boundaries

The consultation closes on February 8, which means there is not long left for people to have their say.

The Commission’s draft recommendations propose that Lincolnshire County Council should have 70 county councillors in the future: seven fewer than the current arrangements.

The proposals mean those councillors would represent 70 single-member electoral divisions across the county.

The recommendations propose changes to division boundaries throughout the county.

Commission chairman professor Colin Mellors said: “We are asking local people to log on to our website to have a look at our proposals for new division boundaries for Lincolnshire. We are keen to hear what local people think of the recommendations and to tell us if they agree with the proposals.

“If you don’t agree with the boundaries we have drawn, we would like to hear your alternatives.

“Our review aims to deliver electoral equality for voters in elections to Lincolnshire County Council.

“This means that each county councillor represents a similar number of electors so that everyone’s vote in county council elections is worth roughly the same regardless of where you live.

“We also aim to ensure that the council’s divisions reflect, as far as possible, the interests and identities of local communities across the county.
