ATTEMPTS to expand Skegness Cemetery to ensure the town is equipped to bury its dead have proved ‘very complicated’, the town council has discovered.
The cemetery task and finish group chairman Coun Sid Dennis reported on the difficulties in acquiring the necessary land at last Wednesday’s direction and strategy meeting.
He said: “The first choice of land was not easily available so the group has had to look at alternative areas.
“It’s very complicated and not as easy as we would have liked it to be.”
Having learned that the land adjacent to the current cemetery was unavailable for purchase, the group believe a separate, unconnected site may have to be considered.
