ALFORD Conservative Club will be joining in with the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations next week.
On Saturday, June 2 the club, which is located in Alford’s Park Lane, will have “lots going on for the family”.
“The club will be open from 10am to 4pm so come along to and have a drink, sandwich and cake,” said a spokesperson.
“Write a memory down on our 50s Memory Board of what you were doing in the 1952 coronation.”
“There will be a tombola, stalls and a few games,” they added.
There will also be competitions to enter. Entry forms and further details are available from the club after 6.30pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
The competitions are ‘decorated cake’, ‘flower arrangement’ and ‘children’s fancy dress for under 11s’. Each competition has a jubilee theme and is 50p to enter.
In the evening the club will entertain with ‘Music of the 50s’, and is encouraging people to don their best 1950s outfit.
