A man claiming to be a Metropolitan Police officer has been targeting people in a reported phone scam.

Police in Skegness received a report today (Monday) that a local resident had been phoned by the fraudster.

PCSO Dave Bunker, of the Skegness Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Police or banks will never call and ask you for PIN numbers or ask you to withdraw or transfer cash. They will never send a courier to your home address.

“If you receive a call like this please report to 101 from a different phone line as the offender may stay on the line even though you have hung up your phone.”
