Crime series author celebrates World Book Day at Gunby Hall

This is a special event to celebrate World Book Day and visitors will be able to meet Nick, but one of his books and get it signed.

Nick became an award winning journalist after graduating from the London School of Economics in 1979, when he was a foreign correspondent for Reuters.

The thriller Bite was self-published in 2007 before becoming an Amazon No1 best-seller in 2014, and being and translated into six languages. There followed standalone thrillers Heartbreaker and Mirror Mirror in 2016-17, and Trapped, in 2019.

The first DCI Craig Gillard book, The Body in the Marsh, was published by Canelo in September 2017. The tenth and final book in the seriesThe Body in Nightingale Park was released last year.

However Nick is not stopping there. Publishers Canelo and WF Howes have signed an eight-book deal with Nick to write another crime series, following on from the DCI Gillard books.

Turning the spotlight on DI Jan Talantire and the North Devon countryside, the new series will be published across print, eBook and audiobook formats.

Fans will be able to get their copy in Gunby Hall’s Joiners' Workshop: Second-hand Bookshop on Saturday, March 9, from 10.30am to noon and 1pm to 2.30pm.

The building itself dates to the 1730’s and the 'The Joiners Workshop: Second-hand Bookshop' moved there in early 2019.

It has been redecorated, with a new layout, furniture, and signs, but matching the original heritage colour.
