Skegness’s beloved mascot the Jolly Fisherman celebrates his 105th birthday this summer and a party has been planned to mark the occasion.
Skegness Partnership will be hosting a party in Tower Gardens on Saturday, July 27, coinciding with the town’s first ‘Steam Show’.
The Steam Show, organised by Skegness Carnival Committee, will see dozens of vintage vehicles on display around the town. Although many of the larger models will be shown at other locations, less susceptible to the drainage issues which affect Tower Gardens, several smaller engines are hoped to feature on site alongside the birthday party.
The partnership, which hopes the party can become an annual fixture, will be announcing further details in the coming months.
