It was a night of musical entertainment and variety at this year’s Skegness Community Concert.
St Mathew’s Church in Skegness resounded to a wonderful evening of music. Performances included the fantastic Richmond School Choir and Skegness Singers sang several songs with a First World War theme accompanied by a very touching reading by Glyn Morris.
Singers Katie Meadows and Tina Sparks treated the audience to some beautiful West End theatre songs and the Burgh Church Hand Bells group got everyone singing along to their lively numbers.
The Just Sing Ladies kicked off the second half with an ABBA medley and Heidi Fox played some lovely pieces on the violin. Several students from the Piano Academy, aged five to 17, played the piano. Sisters Grace, 11, and Kelly Gelder, 15, performed a stunning piece written by Kelly who went onto play the drums in the Piano Academy’s Junior Band which really got the church rocking. All proceeds raised from the event were donated to the St Mathew’s Church and Macmillan Cancer Support.
