Police are advising drivers to use old tax disc holders to store their ICE (in case of emergency) details.
The Lincolnshire force is following the West Mercia and Warwickshire Police initiative of using old tax disc holders to place ICE details for emergency services to contact next of kin should the driver be unable to communicate following an accident.
A template has been produced that can be printed off and cut out to fit the tax disc holder. The style template has been designed in consultation Lincolnshire Neighbourhood Watch members.
Anyone contacted by a member of the emergency service should ask to call 101 to confirm the identity of the caller.
Copies of the ICE forms are available online at https://www.lincolnshirealert.co.uk/da/91918/New_idea_for_your_old_tax_disc_holder_-_store_ICE_details_.html
