A first-time father from Skegness has been inspired to help needy children through an unusual charity fundraiser.
Daniel Scragg, 22, has decided to tattoo an image of iconic charity mascot Pudsey Bear on his arm this Children in Need, after he became a dad for the first time 11 weeks ago.
He said: “I just recently had a little baby boy and that’s my main motivation for this - I would hate for anything to happen to him, so I thought I would do something for other children in need.”
Extreme 3, a tattoo shop on Drummond Road, Skegness, has kindly offered to do the tattoo free of charge, which Daniel hopes will be performed live at Grand Central, where he works as a bartender, as part of the venue’s wider celebration in aid of Children in Need on November 16.
Daniel chose the novel sponsorship idea as he felt it set him aside from the usual charity fundraisers and would also leave him with a permanent reminder of how his newborn son inspired him to get inked for charity.
If you want to sponsor Daniel, there are forms available from Grand Central - he had already raised £60 in just 90 minutes.
