THIS year’s third annual Mablethorpe Motorcycle Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The free event is now just days away, with thousands of bikers and tourists from around the country expected to descend on the coast next weekend.

Last year over 3,000 people turned out to see what all the fuss was about, raising vital cash for local charities.

The 2012 festival takes place on Saturday, March 24 between 11am and 5pm in and around Queen’s Park in Mablethorpe.

There are no tickets or entry points so come and go as you please.

This year’s main events include displays from the Two Brothers stunt team made up of Mark ‘Vandal’ Vandriel and Ashley Mark, Honda Racing as well as appearances from the British Legion Blood Bikers, Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, the Harley Davidson Club and the Triumphs.

‘Wheelie Nev’ Moss will show the crowd how to do his signature wheelie on a 180mph bike and the town’s fire station will demonstrate how they cut the roof off a car at 2pm.

Organisers Gary Barnes and Tina Ambridge are this year pulling out all the stops; there will also be a beer tent, a railway, crazy golf and more with something for all ages, and don’t forget to listen out for the town crier Roy Palmer!

Stay over and watch the thrilling sand racing on Sunday morning on Mablethorpe beach.

The free event has parking covered, with Seacroft Road and the corner of Quebec Road on Jackson’s car park designated for the job.
