Mini car enthusiasts have managed to raise over two thousand pounds for an important charity, thrashing the previous two totals.
Skegminifest 2013 pulled out all the stops this year, attracting more than 150 Minis to stay on site and in the process raising £2,042.28 for Macmillan.
The three-day event was held at The Welcome Inn on July 12,13 and 14 attracting many keen families, friends and visitors to enjoy all the stalls, a barbecue, ice cream and more.
And in terms of fundraising, Paul Gamble one of the organisers of Skegness Mini Owners Club, said funds exceeded past tallies.
“The feedback was amazing and it was a really good event. We raised more than last year and the year before,” said Paul.
This is the third year for the Minifest event and some travelled from as far as Guernsey to be there and said they would be back next year.
Another organiser also expressed how fantastic the event was, thanking all the bands, the pub, the club, the other Mini clubs and more.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to every one who attended Skegminifest 2013 episode three and thanks to all the bands who gave up their time for free...thank you to the Welcome Inn for allowing us to host the event in such a fantastic setting,” said Niel Brazier.
Prizes were given to notable Mini car owners, many prizes were also awarded during a grand raffle.
