SKEGNESS is set for a “Mini” adventure this weekend when Minis from across the country flock to the town for Skeg Mini Fest.
The Skegness Mini Owner’s Club will host the motoring extravanganza at the Welcome Inn in Skegness on Saturday and Sunday (July 16 and 17), with funds raised from the event set to go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Organiser Paul Gamble said: “The event stemmed from a Christmas party that was so successful we moved on to planning this, which we have been doing for the past 12 months.
“There will be trade stands, stalls and games going on all day and a free barbeque for onsite campers.
“We’ve always done something to support charities and with Macmillan being the pub’s chosen charity we decided to go with that.
“The event has appeal for both the young and old and we welcome Mini owners not just from Skegness but from far and wide.”
The event will begin at 2pm on July 16. Throughout the weekend there will also be a variety of both local bands and those from further afield.
The line up includes Matt Cawston, Ben Chambers, Hard Times, Night Parade from Liverpool and Bill Davro among others.
Mini owners wanting to attend the event for one day can just turn up. The camping berths are all now fully booked however.
Skegness Mini Owner’s Club currently has around 20 members and meets on the second Sunday of the month at the Welcome Inn.
