Have your say

Both my wife and I have been honoured to be the Mayor and Mayoress of Skegness over these past months.

During that time we have got to meet so many wonderful people, charities and groups who are working to help our residents, from offering a place for our retired community to socialise, enjoy a hot meal, and be looked after, right through to youth clubs where volunteers offer our younger generation somewhere to go and enjoy themselves when the nights are dark earlier and there is a reduced amount they would normally be able to do.

Skegness is a town where so many are willing to help others in a voluntary way and to help strive to improve our wonderful town even further, this is something that will continue right over the Christmas period, with local groups helping the lonely and vulnerable to enjoy the festive period, and we on behalf of the community would like to thank you all for the selfless work you do.

In Skegness this year, we have enjoyed a busy season and seen local investment to further improve the offer our town has both to our residents and to the visitors, which has shown a belief in our local economy, hopefully leading to further new or improved facilities in 2016 and the near future, we have also been able to enjoy the wonderful programme of events put on by groups such as the Carnival Committee, the Skegness Partnership, the Hildreds and many more, who every year help to enhance the Skegness offer.

Finally, we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, prosperous New Year and look forward to meeting even more of our groups, residents and visitors in the New Year.
