A SKEGNESS man’s spectacularly intricate matchstick model collection is set to go back on public display next week - after last year’s inaugural charity event proved a huge success.
Derek Johnson wowed visitors to the Hildreds Centre in Skegness with some of his creations last April.
Everything from Tower Bridge to Windmills were on display last year. And he’s back with old and new creations alike - including a spectacular model of a Mississippi paddle steamer, helicopter and much, much more.
The event will run from Saturday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 4 and is being held in memory of Derek’s wife Joy.
All donations received during the exhibition will go towards the Alzheimer’s Society.
Raffles will also be held during the event, with many prizes donated by the local Wilkinsons and other stores.
“Thank you to everyone for your support and to the Hildreds Centre for allowing us to display again this year, and also to Wilkinsons, Skegness for the raffle prizes,” said Derek.
