Man wanted for armed robbery found in shed at Hogsthorpe

A police helicopter assisted officers in tracing a Sheffield man who was wanted in connection with an offence of armed robbery.

Police were alerted of the 24-year-old man’s presence in the Ingoldmells area and he was arrested in Hogsthorpe at around 1.30am on Saturday.

A silver Saab was also recovered in Hogsthorpe in connection with enquiries by South Yorkshire

During the National Police Air Service search, a laser was alledgedly shone at the pilot and observer.

Sean Franklin, 31, of Nuneaton, was charged with an offence of directly/shining a light at an aircraft in flight so as to dazzle/distract the pilot, an offence under the Civil Aviation Act 1982. He was bailed to Skegness Magistrates’ Court on April 19.
