An epic charity walk between Derbyshire and Skegness has raised thousands for charity.
Four weary lads approached Skegness’s Clock Tower on August 31 after completing a mammoth 89 mile walk from Heanor, Derbyshire.
Leaving at midday, on Friday, August 30 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care, David Vernon, 47, Sean Pickworth, 29, Mark Holmes, 16, and Andrew Kennedy, 27, arrived 34-and-a half hours later, accompanied by a support vehicle driven by Rev Keith Vernon and his friend Tony.
The charitable group even helped a victim of a road accident until emergency services arrived. Poppy’s Cafe welcomed the walkers on their approach by offering refreshing drinks. So far the walk has raised over £2,300 with more yet to come.
