Major Skegness development of 750 homes reaches half way milestone

The developer of Skegness' 750 home residential development Lumley Fields has announced that the scheme is half way through its 18-year construction period.

Developer Manorcrest Homes, part of Manorcrest Group, has announced it is on track to complete the residential community in 2026.

The 60-acre site includes townhouses, apartments and single storey living and is located just 10 minutes from Skegness’ vibrant beach front.

The development has also led to further investment and development in the area with shops, a café, a community centre and the new Skegness Academy which were recently built next to Lumley Fields.

Manorcrest Homes, which has delivered high-profile schemes across Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, began works on the Lumley development in 2008 and has so far built 375 homes.

Director of Manorcrest Homes, Dean Wann, said: “As Skegness-based developers we recognised the need for more homes in area. Lumley Fields is a huge project which provides a great deal of jobs to the local area and it’s fantastic we have reached this milestone on a development that has proven popular with buyers from the outset.

Over the course of the next nine years, Manorcrest Homes aims to deliver over 40 homes each year at Lumley Fields.
