Young thespians excel at Playgoers’ 15th drama festival
Winners of the 15th Youth One Act Play Festival 2012: Fusion Youth Theatre who performed 'Deeds Not Words'
Young thespians recently gathered from across Lincolnshire to perform in a prestigious annual drama festival held in Skegness.
Skegness Playgoers were ‘delighted’ to see audiences travel from miles around to watch the talented young performers in their 15th Youth One Act Play Festival .
The gifted youngsters performed in six plays held over a week at Skegness Grammar School, bringing ‘drama, tension and amusement to the audience’.
Russell Whitely of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators has praised the quality of acting and play writing on display throughout the festival.
In his final summing up he said: “I’m very impressed with the original work which has given the young actors something to cut their teeth on.
“The kids have worked well together on stage and these are our stars of the future.”
Skegness Playgoers’ chairman David Fisher gave his thanks to the young performers and their audience saying: “It is gratifying that people enjoy the theatre.”
