VIDEO: Skegness mayor hails Caterex 2013 a success
The Mayor of Skegness has hailed the organisers behind the annual Caterex food and drink expo after being ‘delighted’ by the size of the this year’s crowds.
Speaking at last night’s (Wednesday) full meeting of Skegness Town Council, Coun Mark Anderson praised the Skegness East Coast and Wolds Hospitality Association (SECWHA) for its two-day trade exhibition.
Coun Anderson had attended the first day of 2013’s event earlier the same say. He said: “It was a delight to see so many people at the exhibition.”
He said it made him feel like it was the ‘start of the holiday season’, with all the suppliers getting sorted for the forthcoming season.
He reminded the council that half term was about to begin and he hoped 2013 would be a successful year for the town and the sun would bring more people to visit.
Mayor Coun Anderson also commended SECWHA for its annual dinner dance which was held recently at Southview Hotel.
He said: “It was tremendous, good and I enjoyed it.”
Caterex, which this year celebrated its 30th anniversary, also took place today - see the video for footage from the exhibition floor inside the Richmond Holiday Centre in Skegness.
