UPDATE: Road reopens after 14-year-old cyclist in collision with van on A52 Skegness to Boston Road at Croft Bank

16:20 - The A52 Skegness to Boston road at Croft Bank was closed for a period this afternoon after a teenage cyclist and a van collided on the busy route shortly before 3pm today (Monday).

Police have described the casualty as a fourteen year-old boy.

They added that he had suffered possible head injuries but that these may not be as bad as first feared.

“We closed the road as a precaution because of potential head injuries,” said a spokesperson.

“He has now arrived at hospital and it appears he is not as injured as first thought.

“The road has now reopened and the van is waiting on recovery.

“An officer with the roads policing unit (RPU) is on his way to the hospital to check on the condition of the boy but his injuries don’t appear to be as serious as first thought.”

They added that a full update on the boys condition would not be made until after the RPU officer has made his report.
