Town future discussed

News.

A drop-in meeting held recently at the Storehouse, North Parade, Skegness, has been hailed a “success” by Skegness Town Council’s clerk, Steve Larner.

The meeting, conducted by Skegness Town Council gave those enthusiastic to develop a Community Led Plan the opportunity to sign up and be involved in “shaping Skegness’s future”.

The initiative aims to empower local communities, and councillors met with residents to discuss how they could move a Community Led Plan forward in coming years.

Information displays and video presentations were available to help residents identify the areas they might want to get involved with.

Town Clerk, Steve Larner said: “The event was well attended and we got a good number of people signing up to take part in the future. A number of issues were raised including the flow of people and traffic around the town, the preservation of the Tower Gardens Pavilion together with other community focused ideas.”

The council will be holding further events at the Caterex Exhibition on February 5 and 6 from unit D3 and a drop in opportunity in the Hildreds Centre on February 22.
