Summer arrives in Lincolnshire as fortnight of sun is forecast

As Lincolnshire bakes in the heat today, with temperatures outstripping the likes of Nairobi in Kenya, there's more good news from forecasters who are predicting a fortnight of sunshine and warmth.

With temperatures hitting 27-28C today and the mercury rising into the 30s tomorrow the outlook is for warm dry weather throughout the coming weeks - summer may finally have arrived!

This week’s Met Office forecast for the east is:

Today: Becoming generally very warm or hot, with the highest temperatures across the west of the region. Staying dry everywhere with spells of strong sunshine.

Tonight: Remaining dry, with long clear periods and light winds, temperatures overnight will remain relatively high, especially in towns and cities. Minimum Temperature 15 °C.

Tuesday: Dry, hot and humid with long spells of strong sunshine. The highest temperatures will be across the west of the region, as cooler, breezy conditions develop along the coast.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Wednesday hot and humid again, with a small chance of intense thunderstorms. Thursday and Friday will be fresher with temperatures closer to normal.
