A community hall has been spruced up thanks to a kind donation of paint and man hours from a local shop.

The Spar in Winthorpe were able to choose a community project to assist, and the Winthorpe Youth and Resident’s Association said it was in need of help to smarten up its hall.

The Spar allocated money so the association were able to buy several tins of paint to revamp the Winthorpe Community Hall, off Roman Bank.

But not only that, it put forward four staff who were paid six hours from the company and each kindly donated another two hours to help the association paint the hall to help give it a fresh new look.

Last Thursday a team from the association and staff met to tackle the revamp at the hall.

The main room has been painted in a bright yellow and lime green, the male toilets in a light blue and the female toilet in a pink shade.

“It was such good fun. Everyone worked really hard on the day,” said Jodi Bradbury for the association.

The association wanted to spruce up the hall ready in time for the Christmas Fair taking place this Saturday, December 14 from 11am-3pm.

There will be a whole host of Christmas treats, refreshments, decoration crafts and Santa will be there too.

Tables are still available priced at £5. Contact 07707 197792 for details.
