Residents shopping at Tesco’s Skegness Extra may have spotted an unusual vehicle parked in the car park recently.

To celebrate Tesco’s sponsorship of this year’s Open Farm Sunday, co-sponsors John Deere parked their tractor outside the store and invited shoppers to climb aboard.

Open Farm Sunday on Sunday, June 8, saw farmers across the UK open their farms to the public to discover firsthand what it means to be a farmer.

Colleagues from local Tesco stores were at farms in the locality talking to visitors about how Tesco works with local farms.

Tesco Skegness store manager Shaun Braithwaite said: “It was fantastic to have the John Deere tractor at the store. Our customers had a great time chatting to the guys about Open Farm Sunday and getting to grips with the tractor. I’d encourage everyone find out more about what it’s like to be a farmer.”
