Skegness RNLI fun day and Lifeboat Week raises roughly £5,500
THE RNLI in Skegness has received a welcome £5,500 cash boost after a succession of activities to mark Lifeboat Week.
As well as setting up a 16ft model of the town’s Lincolnshire Poacher Lifeboat outside the Hildreds Shopping Centre the charity also held a fun day on Saturday - complete with live launches and demonstrations.
The fun day included lots of stalls such as cake stalls, hook-a-duck, a tombola and many more.
“It went very well and we can’t thank the Hildreds’ staff and the public enough for all of their kind support,” said John Irving, the Skegness RNLI’s Coxswain/Mechanic.
