Skegness police hold day of action against fraud

Skegness police are holding a day of action against fraud and scams next month.

The fight back against scams and fraud continues with officers from Skegness local policing team visiting Barclays Bank on Lumley Road, Skegness on Friday July 10 between 10am and 3pm.

Representatives from Lincolnshire Police, Barclays Bank, Lincolnshire Trading Standards Department and “Operation Repeat” will be available to answer any questions in relation to scams and fraud.

Learn more about various types of fraud and scams including phone fraud. This type of offence is becoming increasingly common.

PCSO Dave Bunker said: “Fraudsters make multiple calls, often claiming to be from a bank or that they are police officers, until they latch onto an elderly or vulnerable potential victim. They work from a script and can be very plausible and persuasive.

“We hope you are able to attend this important event, learn how the scammers operate and learn how to protect yourself, friends and family.”
