Skegness and Boston MP Mark Simmonds has welcomed new figures showing the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in the constituency has fallen by 454 over the last year.
Mr Simmonds said that some of the jobs have been created by new businesses locating to the area such as Parkinson Harness Technology.
He added: “It’s great news there are now 454 fewer people on unemployment benefit in Boston and Skegness over the last year.
“That’s over 400 people no longer relying on benefits to get by, with a more secure, brighter future ahead of them.
“With the economy growing and jobs being created by businesses it’s clear the Conservatives’ long-term economic
plan is working, and the foundations of a broad based recovery are in place.
“We need to keep working through the plan, which is creating jobs, giving more people who want to work hard and get on the security of a regular pay packet they can bring home to their families.”
