Skegness man dies after drain crash on Alford to Mablethorpe road

A motorist from Skegness has died after his car ploughed through a fence and crashed into a ditch on the A1104 between Alford and Mablethorpe.
A passing driver discovered the 35-year-old man’s blue Ford Mondeo partially submerged in a deep ditch at around 7.50am today (Tuesday).
Police divers were called to search the water and specialist equipment sourced to remove the vehicle while the road remained closed.
The crash is thought to have happened sometime after 1am and police would like anyone who travelled along that stretch of road to call the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.
The man’s parents have been told.
