Seacroft’s young golfers start season in style

Ten junior members from Seacroft Golf Club contested the Easter competition for the Gordon Reeves Shield.

A variety of formats were adopted to cater for the respective playing abilities of the youngsters.

Winner of the Gordon Reeves shield was Lewis Brader, with 41 stableford points, just two points ahead of runner-up Oliver Roylance, with 40 points.

The 18-hole competition off the junior brown tees, was won by Rocco Toombes, with 30 points. Runner-up was Thomas Webster, with 25 points.

The nine hole competition off junior brown tees, was Matthew Keay, with a medal score of 64, just one shot better than runner-up Kieran Wright, with a total of 65.

Last but not least, on the nine hole short course, Josh Lawie scored a highly creditable 53 and Ryan Pain, the runner-up totalled 67.

This was the first event of a busy year ahead, with junior coaching nights, roll-up mini competitions, inter-club matches and more section competitions.
