The Wainfleet branch of the Royal British Legion are advising that in some parts of the country, groups are claiming to represent the legion.
Their object is to raise money and they may ask you for your bank details.
The Royal British Legion reminds the public that it is highly unlikely that members would visit your property in the late evening and are not currently carrying collection tins for any charity.
Even if collection tins were carried, members would be holding the relevant indentification.
The best advice, they say, is not to open the door after dusk.
On Thursday, March 20, a branch meeting will be held at the Wainfleet branch at the Coronation Hall, Wainfleet, 7pm prompt.
All members are invited to join and anyone interested in becoming a new member is always welcome.
