Police in caravan break-ins warning after Winthorpe incidents

The Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards Nieghbourhood Policing Team has urged all caravan owners to take steps to avoid becoming a victim of crime after a series of caravan burglaries in Winthorpe.

“We are currently making enquiries with regards to a series of caravan burglaries at two caravan sites off Church Lane, Winthorpe, Skegness,” said police.

“The caravans have been broken into between January 5 and 17.

“Some of the items stolen include household electrical items and tools.

“We are appealing for anyone with any information, with regards to these burglaries to contact police on Telephone number 101, quoting ‘incident number 298 of January 17,” they added.

The thefts have sparked renewed calls by police for peopel to take simple measures to protect their caravans - these include emptying all high-value goods when away from the caravans for a long period, marking your property to make it easier to recover if it is stolen, and to ensure that nothign valuable is left on view when away from your static.
