Lincolnshire Police is set to hold a recruitment session for its Police Cadets in Skegness.
Cadet candidates should be aged between 14 and 17 (and must be aged at least 14 by March 25), live or attend school within the Lincolnshire Police boundary, be able to commit to Wednesday evenings and be available to attend the selection board for your chosen Corps
The selection board date for Skegness will take place on February 15.
A police spokesperson said: “Cadets will be taught about the law, police procedures, drill, first aid and also learn about some of the specialist units within the force.
“They will also get the opportunity to help local policing teams tackle local crime problems. At the age of 16 - after successfully passing relevant sections - cadets are allowed to go out on patrol with selected officers.
“Cadets also represent the force at local community events, such as local fetes, bonfire displays etc.
“The purpose of the Lincolnshire Police Cadet Service is to encourage and support our young people from all backgrounds through positive diversionary activities, with the aim of building self esteem and confidence to help them to reach their full potential.
“We want to promote positive images of young people and the police within the community, serving with PRIDE. Volunteer Police Cadets will make a positive contribution to the society in which they live, helping to build safer and stronger communities through engagement, education and prevention.
“Lincolnshire Police aims to develop each cadet to maintain his or her volunteering role and support future aspirations.
“Placing the cadets at the heart of promoting community safety and crime prevention will encourage young people to act as peer role models, helping them to develop skills and social responsibility,” they added.
