Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community – from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

At the Village Church Farm museum there was an exhibition of memorabilia from both the First World War and the Second World War.

It had been collected over 25 years by museum volunteer Rodney Martin.

Visitors can view it daily from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 2pm.

Specsavers in Lumley Road decorated the shop and allowed Sheila Hannibal, who helps organise the local Poppy Appeal, to hold a stall and collection.
