Sarah Clayton spotted the mammal this afternoon (Tuesday) on sand just after Trunch Lane, on the way to Ingoldmells.

It has not been identified yet, but she believes it is a dolphin.

She said: “I just saw it lying on a lump of sand. I knew it was dead because I saw flies around it.

“I didn’t know what to do.”

Sarah took photos and called the Skegness Standard for advice on what to do. We advised her to contact council officers.

As of yet, it is unknown what action is being taken. We contacted East Lindsey District Council for comment, who advised that it is a matter to be dealt with by the parish council.
