Phenomenal success for Lisa Jay dancers

THE Lisa Jay Stage Institute’s dancers have once again proven their mettle after a staggering 33 members won their way through to the grand final of the IDTA Street dance competition.

Forty-nine pupils travelled to Newton Aycliffe for the area finals recently.
And they enjoyed superb success. Despite 1,000 dancers competing in a tough field 33 of the local dancers won their way through to the final.

And, although the destination and venue of the 2013 final have yet to be announced, there are rumours they could be battling it out in Blackpool’s prestigious Grand Ballroom.

Lisa Jay, the principal, and Miss Jade, a teacher and choreographer, were really impressed with the pupils’ polished routines and their professional attitude to the entire event

Lisa said: “This year we had more pupils that entered the competition so the pressure and nerves were so much more but as we’ve come to expect our pupils never let us down and rose to the challenge of the day.

“I was personally thrilled with how they showcased themselves to such a large audience.

“As I said last year we are being recognised all over the country now for our high standards in both Freestyle and Theatre branch subjects.

“In fact we were made to feel extremely welcome by Cynthia Coleman as she remembered us from the previous year.”

The successful dancers were (in no particular order) -
