AN open garden event in Halton Holegate has managed to raise around £400 for an animal conservation charity - with the final tally still to be counted.
Brock House opened its doors to the public for three hours on Saturday to raise vital cash for the Lincolnshire branch of Butterfly Conservation.
The event came about in response to the cold and wet summer, which is reported to have hit butterfly populations.
Brock House gardener Laura Pearce also volunteers with the charity. She said: “The open garden was a real success.
“There were good numbers who turned up and the weather was nice.
“Being a small charity, something like £400 will make a big difference to them,” she added.
