OLYMPIC torchbearer Glennis Rogerson has been giving members of the public a chance to get even closer to the torch than they were able to during the relay last week.
In the days since Glennis ran one of the Skegness legs on Wednesday she has been keeping herself busy by giving local children and shoppers the opportunity to see the torch at close quarters.
She stopped off at Skegness Infants School on Thursday to let the children touch the torch and learn more about her experiences of carrying the flame.
“I’m just glad that I am given the opportunity to go around to the schools to tell them all about it,” said Glennis.
“I am more than happy to visit other places if people would like me to because I’m sure there are people who couldn’t get out to see the relay at all.”
She also stopped off at the Hildreds Shopping Centre in Skegness to let shoppers see the iconic torch for themselves.
Deputy centre manager, Steve Andrews said: “I would like to thank Glennis for giving up her time to come into the centre.
“She is a true inspiration,” he added.
