PARENTS and students at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar, Alford, gathered last week to celebrate their successes over the past year.
Glenn Kirkham, vice-captain of the Team GB hockey team, was the guest speaker and presented the prizes at Speech Night.
As an ex-pupil of the school, he was warmly welcomed. In his speech he emphasised the dedication required for success and gave a competitor’s insight into the Olympics.
Headteacher Angie Francis also emphasised in her speech the importance of hard work and self-belief, and congratulated the students on their wide-ranging achievements over the past year.
