The Skegness Carnival committee have announced new plans for this year’s carnival queen proceedings.

There will still be a competition open for a Skegness carnival queen and princess.

However, this year will feature a separate category for a younger age group.

Carnival queen’s will be crowned from 15 year’s old and upwards with a prize of £150 for the victor.

The carnival princess competition is for young ladies aged 11-14 year’s old with a £100 prize for first place.

For the very first time, this year’s event will have a ‘rose-bud’ category, for young girls aged 9-10 years with a prize of £50.

Each category is limited to the first 12 applications.

Judging will be held on Saturday, July, 19 at the Suncastle, Skegness on North Parade.

All entries need to be received by Monday, June 30.
