Meet R2D2, C3PO, Chewbacca and Storm Trooper at Star Wars Day

Life-sized models of R2D2 and C3PO will be on display in the centre, and Chewbacca and an Imperial Storm Trooper will be making special appearances this Monday.

Visitors to the Hildreds Shopping Centre will have the opportunity to take photos with the characters and are being encouraged to dress up in Star Wars costumes.

Centre manager Steve Andrews created the models of R2D2 and CP30 himself by hand, and explained: “Our Star Wars Day is always a fantastic event at the Hildreds. This will be our fourth year that we have hosted the event and it goes from strength to strength.

“This year we will also be holding a Jedi Training Academy at the Hildreds where children will be able to learn light sabre skills and face Darth Vader in armed combat. Each child who successfully completes the training will be given a certificate from the Hildreds Jedi Council.”

Chewbacca and his companions will be at the Hildreds from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm.
