Boston and Skegness MP Mark Simmonds has said the reason he is stepping down at the next General Election is because of the ‘huge’ and ‘negative’ impact the role has on family life.
Mr Simmonds told The Standard: “The impact on family life is so huge and so negative that I’m not prepared to tolerate it anymore.
“There’s no support, or little support, for that family life.”
He said he had already written to the chairman of the local association to explain his reasons for leaving.
