Mablethorpe couple sentenced over drugs charges

A Mablethorpe couple have appeared before magistrates at Skegness after police found cannabis and ecstasy at their Waterloo Road home.

Ryan O’Brien (25) admitted possessing cannabis and ecstasy, and Stacey Elizabeth Sykes (30) admitted possessing cannabis.

Marie Stace, prosecuting, said police went to their home on an unrelated matter on March 18 and during a search found the small quantities of cannabis and MDMA (ecstasy) which they both said were for their own personal use.

At Skegness Magistrates’ Court on July 12, O’Brien said that the cannabis was mixed with tobacco and the ecstasy was ‘only a tiny bit’.

Sykes was fined £60 and O’Brien £180 and both were ordered to pay £60 each in costs and charges.
