Drowning Prevention Week from June 21-29 is the perfect time to learn how to save lives in the water.
East Lindsey District Council’s Embassy Swimming Pool in Skegness, Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth and Horncastle Swimming Pool offer various lifesaving courses tailored to suit all levels.
Swimmers can take advantage of the Rookie Lifeguard Course and the Survive and Save Course alongside the pools’ weekly Water Wise programmes.
Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Councillor Adam Grist, said: “This week presents the perfect opportunity for people of all ages to embark on a lifesaving course. With the East Coast situated just a short distance away, learning how to react when in difficulty in the water and how to save others is vital. The courses are also very useful for anyone thinking of embarking upon life-guarding as a career opportunity.”
