The Met Office has put out yellow warnings for gale force winds in Lincolnshire today (Wednesday) and tomorrow.

And they have warned of the potential for ‘minor disruption’. Wednesday’s warning is expected to remain in force until at least 6pm.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Winds will be increasing through today to become very gusty, particularly near heavy showers.

“The public should be aware that there is the potential for some minor disruption to travel, particularly for high-sided vehicles.”

A yellow warning has also been issued to describe conditions from 5am on Thursday.

Describing Thursday’s warning, which covers northern Lincolnshire, Skegness and the Wash as well as other parts of the UK, the Met Office spokesperson added: ”Westerly winds will increase on Thursday to produce gusts of 50-60mph, perhaps as high as 70mph on exposed coasts and hills.

“Winds will peak across Northern Ireland in the morning with the greatest strength then transferring into northern England and southern Scotland by the afternoon. Winds will then gradually ease across all areas during Thursday evening.

“The public should be aware of possible disruption to transport.”
